Seminar Description

In this interactive seminar, participants will strengthen their understanding of the planning, monitoring, and control of scope, time, and cost of their projects. They will increase their knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) and the new Earned Schedule (ES) method, and their applications in their organizational setting (private industry, government, etc.).
Participants will develop their skills in EVM and its advanced extensions as well as the new Earned Schedule method, using interactive examples and realistic exercises. They will enhance their skills in analyzing and reporting project metrics, as well as tracking and managing project performance. They will expand their knowledge of integrating scope, time, cost, quality, risk, and other parameters to support their organizational strategies in project, program, and portfolio management.

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Select appropriate performance management criteria for their projects and programs
  • Apply Earned Value Management, its new terminology, quantitative techniques, and graphical tools
  • Use the new Earned Schedule method to evaluate project schedule status
  • Compare Earned Schedule to the Critical Path Method (CPM)
  • Analyze and report project performance
  • Track and manage critical project metrics
  • Forecast project completion cost and time
  • Integrate Earned Value Management, Earned Schedule, and the Critical Path Method
  • Evaluate the implementation of Earned Value Management and Earned Schedule
  • Enhance their contributions to their projects, programs, and organizations

Dr. Frank T. Anbari is professor and director of the Project Management Program at Drexel University and a Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He holds a PhD in project management and quality enhancement, as well as an MBA and an MS in engineering. Dr. Anbari gained extensive industrial experience serving in leadership positions in engineering and information technology in major organizations. He served as a faculty member and director of the Project Management Program at The George Washington University and taught at Penn State University, the University of Texas at Dallas, and for private and public organizations throughout the world.
