Seminar Description

Governance is becoming a key business issue and managers are continually faced with leadership responsibilities and constantly have to make, revise, or change decisions, often under stress. Because of a more and more complex and fast paced environment, governance cannot be mainly focused on control but must also cover leadership and commitment to support an agile approach. Managers cannot rely only on traditional tools and techniques to make the best decisions. 
This seminar presents a governance framework based on an agile and responsive business model. It discusses a variety of leadership and decision-making issues to help managers take the right level of responsibility and identify accountability concerns in different situations and contexts. The seminar is developed around a continuum going from strategic to tactical and operational. It examines a range of traditional and innovative approaches. Whether you are managing a project, program, portfolio or PMO, it will enhance your competence and flexibility in understanding and exercising governance during the process leading from strategic objectives to benefits realization.

After-hours work: 1 hour
Attendees are required to conduct internet research prior to and on day 1 of the seminar and to report findings to fellow attendees.

Manon is a managing partner of Valense Ltd., a global training, research, and consultancy firm and a PMI Global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) since 2004. In the last ten years, she has led a number of training and consultancy mandates in change, value, project, and program management, and regularly teaches at the post-graduate level. Manon has developed a number of courses in change and project management, as well as leadership, governance, and decision-making.
She has more than 25 years’ work experience in Canada, the UK, the Middle-East, Asia, and Europe, teaching and training, as well as practicing and consulting in project, value, and program management. Her clients are major corporations from varied domains and include, academia, finance, transportation, IT, defense, and manufacturing among others.
Manon is a past member of the PMI Registered Education Provider Advisory Group (R.E.P. AG), past director-at-large (professional development) of the PMI EdSIG, and past director of events for the PMI UK Chapter. She works both in French and English, and has extensive experience with individual and group coaching and facilitation. She is an internationally recognized speaker and has published regularly both at academic and practitioner levels in international forums. She has also participated in, or facilitated, professional and academic panels, and presents regularly in international events worldwide.
