Seminar Description

Topics:

Sub-Topics:

Various studies conducted by firms such as Forrester Research, Gartner and Software Engineering Institute (SEI) state that 60% to 80% of project failures can be attributed to poorly defined requirements. Organizations have long acknowledged that requirements management best practices are critical to project success. However, many have been slow to change due to misconceptions or engrained beliefs about the role of requirements in the project management life cycle.
This seminar introduces the requirements management process and provides a practical implementation approach to ensure successful project deliver through a review of Needs Assessments, Requirements Planning,  Elicitation and Analysis, Traceability and Monitoring, and Solution Evaluation.

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Distinguish between different types of requirements and characteristics of good requirements
  • Recognize the importance of stakeholder management and planning the requirements activities
  • Describe the process and key tasks performed in requirements management
  • Identify key components of a requirements management plan
  • Apply techniques to manage and track changes to requirements over the life of the project
  • Understand techniques for evaluating a solution against the business need and assessing the organization's readiness for change
